Shop

With over 45 great shops, the Quedam Shopping Centre, built in the mid eighties, is situated in the very heart of Yeovil and thought to be one of the most popular shopping venues in the South West. As well as leading high street stores such as Boots the Chemist, British Home Stores, Curry’s Digital and Marks and Spencer, the Quedam Centre boasts a number of sought-after fashion outlets with Laura Ashley, Officers Club, Bay Trading, River Island and Monsoon among the shoppers’ favourites. One of the noted specialist shops is Oswald Bailey, an outdoor gear emporium where all manner of ski wear, camping equipment, tents, sleeping bags and rucksacks can be purchased. The Quedam Centre car park, which has space for over 650 cars has been awarded the Park Mark award for its security and safety levels.

In recent months plans have been approved by South Somerset Council to expand the Quedam Shopping Centre with the new extension comprising another 25 retail units as well as a new three-storey department store. Vincent’s, the garage in Silver Street and the multi-storey car park will be demolished to make way for the £45m scheme, which will be the largest development in Yeovil since the original shopping centre was built.

The busy, bustling town centre is lined with a diverse mix of customary and traditional stores, independent retailers and bright, chromatic street markets which are held twice a week with a farmer’s market once a month.
